The Shadow Man: A Haunting Encounter that Changed My Life

Have you ever felt an inexplicable presence lurking in the shadows of your dreams? For many, the figure known as the Shadow Man is a source of fear, often associated with death or significant transitions in life. My first encounter with this mysterious entity happened during my second tour in Iraq, and it left a profound impact on me.
It was just another night in the sleep trailer, and I had fallen asleep, only to awaken—or so I thought—moments later. As I looked to my left, an unexplainable force suddenly gripped my head, dragging me towards the floor. In that moment, my blankets transformed into something sinister, like a black hole pulling me into its depths. To my shock, I found myself in an unfamiliar house—a mansion of sorts.
Before I could grasp my surroundings, I felt myself being pulled toward the front door by an unseen force. Panic rose within me, and I desperately tried to resist. The door swung open, revealing a tall, dark figure with piercing red eyes. Terror gripped my heart, and instinctively, I cried out to Jesus for help—a plea I never thought I would utter given my previous indifference to religion.
In that moment of despair, I repeated, "Jesus walks with me; Jesus is with me; I am with Jesus," and—just like that—I woke up in my bed, relieved but shaken. Little did I know, this was only the beginning of my encounters with the Shadow Man. Two weeks later, my mother passed away, and I entered a dark night of the soul that deepened my connection to the mysterious entity.
Since then, I have had multiple interactions with the Shadow Man, particularly during significant life changes. In Season 2 of The Ghost Finders, my Co-Producer and Spirit Medium, Rob Thompson, was choked by a spirit at the Carbondale Nursing Home. In that moment, I called out to Jesus for assistance. The immediate release that followed was undeniable, reaffirming my belief in the power of faith during times of distress. Watch that video here: Starting at 11:29
